Derma-Roller - stretch mark removal
Many of people across the world suffer from stretchmarks. Both men and women will find them appearing after times of rapid growth such as puberty. Women, of course, suffer with them after pregnancy.
They occur as our skin attempts to keep up with the level of growth in the bones, muscles or, in the case of pregnancy, child. Invariably though, it fails to do so and tears form in the 2nd layer of skin, known as the Dermis. These tears show as red streaks initially and change over time to a silvery colour.
The stretch marks are actually areas of skin with reduced levels of collagen. As the dermis is ripped apart during the growth phase, it fails to restore itself so that it looks like its former state. Of course, it is only a cosmetic issue as there is little or no medical downside to having stretch marks, the cosmetic concerns, however, are great. They make you feel self concious in front of people and don’t look very nice.
Stretch mark removal involves increasing the collagen levels within the Dermis layer of skin. This is most effectively achieved by enhancing your own bodies natural ability to generate collagen as opposed to introducing it from alternative sources. The best technique for doing this is micro needling, using a Derma roller or other collagen induction therapies.
A derma roller is a hand held gadget with many tiny needles that you roll over your skin to induce the healing process and increase collagen and elastin production to naturally heal the skin.
The other additional advantage of using a dermaroller , is the way in which it boosts the effectiveness of creams and oils, such as the very popular bio oil. It gives these lotions the opportunity to permeate the upper levels of skin far more effectively providing a much improved result.
As with anything involving health and wellbeing, it is important to do your research and consult your doctor before beginning or using any product or treatment.
