Look ten years younger

Sure, we all want an even complexion and brighter skin, but I think it is fair to say that there is a general obsession with most people over 40 with staying young. There are make-over shows, many anti-ageing cosmetics and people willing to spend a small fortune on cosmetic surgery to delay the process of ageing as long as possible.

But, you don’t have to spend a fortune to look and feel your best. Here are ten easy and inexpensive ways to take years off of your appearance and keep it that way.

Dazzle them with brilliance – As we age our teeth tend to discolour due to the many cups of tea and coffee we have enjoyed and for some due to tobacco too.

Brighten your smile by using over the counter tooth whiteners or ask your dentist to help you out with professional grade options.

Moisturise - Dry skin looks dull and lackluster. Use a moisturizer on your face (including an eye cream) and also on your hands and body. It is especially important that your hands remain soft and supple as they are great at giving your age away! Keep some hand-cream handy at your desk, in your car or by the sink. This rule applies to men as much as it does to women.

Stay out of the sun - We all know that the sun is dangerously damaging to your skin, so make sure to protect yourself. If you have uneven pigmentation due to sun exposure in the past, at sites like Skin Lightening Advice you’ll find the best skin whitening articles, guidance and information.

Maintain your brows! Be sure to keep your brows neatly trimmed, especially between the eyes! Men should pay particular attention to this as they grow older and their eyebrows seem to take on a life of their own.

Say no to facial hair! Some people like their beards and goatees and that is okay, but if you want to look younger, you’ll achieve that more effectively if you’re clean shaven. Ladies…. find yourself some bleach!

Dark circles under your eyes - It is a fact that you can fight dark circles by getting a good night’s sleep and eating well. Also, you could try an under-eye concealer.

Nose and ears – The cruel reality for men is that hairs begin sprouting from the most unlikely places as they grow older. You can pick up an ear and nose hair trimmer at your local chemist for very little money and they are simple and easy to use.

Wear colour! Both men and women (but especially men) tend to wear darker coloured clothes as they grow older. Brighten up your wardrobe with a few splashes of colour in a shade that complements your skin and your eye colour.

From studious to stunning - Contact lenses will help you to look years younger and if your budget stretches that far, consider lasik surgery to permanently correct vision problems.

Take a hike! Even if it is just a walk around the block, or time spent on an exercise bike, try to incorporate a little exercise into your daily routine. Exercise will help you maintain good posture, keep your weight in check, lessen stress (which causes wrinkles), and boost blood flow (which keeps your whole body well oxygenated), not to mention that it keeps you fit!

Keeping Sane As A Busy Mom, Remember Yourself!

Almost immediately after the first baby is born a woman usually knows that her life is no longer the same (nor her sleeping pattern). The focus becomes about the child, and as the child becomes more than one and it is now children the responsibilities increase. Moms, a lot of the time, tend to forget they are sexy women beneath the sweat shirts! If this sounds familiar, it may be time to take a look in the mirror.

Many times you will find that weight gain is common throughout motherhood. A common problem is eating the left-overs. Left over from the kids’ plates! Since as the mom, you take care of the budgeting in the house you know that every penny (or strain of rice) counts.

You may have not really paid attention to your appearance in a while. Beyond the sweat pants and gyms shoes, of course, you may have forgotten what fashion sense is to begin with. When you actually take a look into your mirror you get the urge to lose weight fast. Although this may be what you want to do, the reality is as you get older it becomes harder to lose weight.

You probably wish the excess weight would disappear, just like the dirt on the floor disappears with your hoover windtunnel bagged vacuum cleaner. The case at hand may not be as easy to handle as your ordinary carpet. Just as you have neglected yourself for a while, it will take some time to get back on track. The good news is that you are looking to get back on track!

If you have been neglecting your body, chances are you haven’t been paying much attention to your face either. Strains on your face from stress, the sun, or lack of maintenance (yes, your face needs to be maintained) can take its tool. Taking care of your appearance and health will boost your self-confidence. A great attribute your kids can emulate.

If you simply do not have the time to visit a spa every so often for a facial, consider at home facial treatments. You may even want to use a little almond oil under your eyes for dark circles, as a result of those endless sleepless nights. You may also consider getting the best eye cream in order to help clear those unwanted wrinkles you see forming.

Simple things you can do yourself can go a long way. This can help your appearance and self-confidence. Who ever said you can not be sexy and a mom?

Slow The Aging Process in 5 Ways

Aging is natural, but it is also preventable. With aging comes wrinkles and the effects of gravity, but worst of all, decreased levels of energy.

But the signs of aging can be reduced and reversed. As you grow older, you can not only look younger, but feel younger.

With a few tips and tricks, you can throw out all previous beliefs you had about aging.

1. Antioxidants -These protect the body from the effects of oxidization, which age the body. An increased intake of antioxidants slow the aging process and reduce risk for cardiovascular disease. You can find antioxidants in Vitamins A,C and E.

2. Eat More Fish - Fish oil and fist contain omega 3 and omega 6. Omega 3 and 6 keep your hair healthy and smooth, and your skin radiant. These omega’s are not produced by the body and must be attained from outside sources. Fish is the best source (and one of the very few) of omega 3 and 6.

3. The three 8’s Rule - Everyday you should be aiming for 8 hours of sleep, 8 hours of work and 8 hours of relaxation. The is the ideal combination to fight stress, which accelerates the aging process.

4. Spend Time in The Theta level - Your mind functions in 4 frequencies, Beta, Alpha, Theta and delta. Most people operate in beta for most of the time and only experience theta when they sleep. When you are at theta level, your brain operates at a very slow frequency and most attention is focused on breathing and relaxing. Spending regular time in theta (through meditation or the silva method) will dramatically slow the aging process.

5. Anti-Aging Herbs - Ginseng, Rhodiola and Maca in particular. These herbs will boost your energy levels and reduce stress. They will also strengthen your immune system. These are also safe natural supplements.

If you take your health to heart and take care of yourself (mentally, physically, emotionally AND spiritually), life becomes sweeter with age.

You will no longer have to worry about aging, since you will feel youthful and energetic inside and out.
